V3Fights: Rhodes vs. Lemon went down on Saturday, Aug. 16 from Florence, Alabama. Correspondent Eric Meckl was there for the action and bring us this in-depth recap. Flyweight (125) MMA: Matt Wright (2-2, Last Man Standing) vs. Kyle Rogers The first fight of the night was supposed to be Salvador Garcia (2-2, AJJ) vs. Wright. Instead, Kyle Rogers was brought in on less than 24 hours notice after Garcia withdrew. Rogers made short work of Wright, taking him down and quickly securing the back for an RNC. Much of the crowd was more concerned with fans standing down front and obscuring the view. By the time that died down, Wright had already been caught. Afterwards, Rogers apologized to the promoters and fans for past poor performances at previous V3Fights events. Putting on a strong performance on short notice has to somewhat redeem him in their eyes. Winner: Kyle Rogers by submission (RNC) at 1:31 of round 1.
